Reported risk: On certain buses, rear door controls may function erratically when the operator cancels the opening of the rear doors by turning the door control lever to the neutral position. When the door is almost closed (approx. 80%) and a passenger approaches, the door initiates its closing cycle even as the infrared sensor is activated by the passenger. As a result, the passenger may be struck by the door panels, or become trapped between them, potentially resulting in personal injury. As well, the vehicle may start to move even though the door is not completely closed. Correction: Owners will be provided with updated V-BEA system software.
