Reported risk: On certain trucks, the crossmember was not formed correctly during manufacturing process. Using results from a stress test, it was estimated that the life expectancy of the suspect crossmember could be less than the design intent. In some applications the crossmember supports the center bearing of the propeller shaft. If this condition were to occur, the structural integrity of the crossmember could be compromised and could result in a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the crossmember.
