Reported risk: On certain commercial buses equipped with Sure-Loc wheelchair securement systems, the sprocket teeth of the wheelchair tie-down retractor assembly may be out of alignment causing the load pawl not to fully seat in the sprocket teeth. If this were to happen, the wheelchair might not be secured during a crash, which could result in injury to its occupant. Correction: Sure-Lok will send a letter notifying owners of this defect and instructions to properly inspect retractor operation. Sure-Lok will replace defective retractor assemblies.
