Reported risk: On certain vehicles, the ABS (anti-lock braking system) / ASR (traction control system) Electronic Control Unit is affected by an error in production which may cause the braking system's ABS feature not to function and the brake failure warning light to illuminate. Also, due to the characteristics of the braking system, this error will cause the EBD (electronic brake force distribution) feature not to function, which could cause vehicle instability under hard braking. If the vehicle's use is continued despite an illuminated brake failure warning light, eventual brake failure can occur and could result in a crash. Correction: Dealer will replace the ABS / ASR Electronic Control unit.
