Reported risk: On certain vehicles, the intermediate steering shaft bolt may not be torqued to the proper specification. An under-torqued bolt could loose, resulting in a separation of the upper and lower steering shafts and loss of vehicle control. If this happens while the vehicle is moving, a crash could result without prior warning. Correction: Dealers will torque the intermediate steering shaft bolt to the proper specifications.
