Reported risk: Certain vehicles are equipped with Vanner 60 Series12/24 volt battery equalizers which may fail in the field without warning. The bus maybe parked with the engine turned off or while the vehicle is in motion when the failure occurs. This could result in the generation of black smoke and/or fire within the engine compartment. Correction: Vehicles will be inspected and equalizers replaced if necessary.
