Reported risk: On certain motorcycles, the design of the crankcase could create a condition which could cause the oil pump not to supply adequate lubrication to the engine. This can cause severe engine damage and can result in sudden engine failure. Sudden engine failure while riding could cause rear wheel lock up, disturbing the rider's ability to control the motorcycle, and could cause a crash without prior warning. Correction: An oil plate will be installed in the crankcase of affected motorcycles which will prevent the creation of air pockets in the area of the oil pump inlet.
