Reported risk: On certain motorcycles, a loss of crankcase bolt torque resulting from a bolt plating change by the bolt manufacturer can cause motor oil to weep from between the crankcase halves forward of the rear wheel. This condition could cause vehicle instability which in turn could result in a crash or injury to the operator or bystanders. Correction: New crankcase bolts will be installed on affected motorcycles.
