Reported risk: On certain vehicles, the Am-Safe model ALR2609 type 1 retractable seat belt assemblies may experience a pre-lock condition. Belts that pre-lock are incapable of being used by the occupant, which could result in occupant's deciding to use the vehicle without wearing seat belts or forcibly extending the lap belt. A forcibly extended seat belt will damage the locking ratchet which in turn may not lock properly to restrain the occupant. Correction: Dealer will replace seat belt assemblies
