Reported risk: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, THE BALL OF THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTOR ARM MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY FITTED TO THE SOCKET ON THE END OF THE GEAR SELECTOR CABLE, THEREBY ALLOWING THE TWO COMPONENTS TO SEPARATE. THIS WOULD RESULT IN A NON-FUNCTIONING GEAR SELECTOR. SINCE THE STARTER INHIBITOR SWITCH IS INSTALLED ON THE GEAR SELECTOR LEVER, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE VEHICLE CAN START MOVING EVEN THOUGH THE GEAR SELECTOR IS IN THE PARK OR NEUTRAL POSITION.
CORRECTION: VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED AND, IF NECESSARY, ADJUSTED TO ENSURE THE SOCKET ON THE SELECTOR CABLE IS FIRMLY SECURED TO THE SELECTOR LEVER.
