ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 10,800 LB. AND 12,000 LB. FRONT AXLES AND SHEPPARD POWER STEERING, THE STEERING PITMAN ARM MAY DEVELOP CRACKS AS THE RESULT OF REPEATED LEFT AND RIGHT MAXIMUM TURNS AGAINST THE AXLE STOP OR STANDSTILL STEERING MANEUVERS. THESE CRACKS COULD PROPOGATE INTO A FRACTURE OF THE PITMAN ARM AND RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
