Reported risk: DIESEL VEHICLES. A WIRE IN THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) WIRING HARNESS CAN BECOME PINCHED BETWEEN THE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY AND THE EGR SWITCH MOUNTING BRACKET. THIS CONDITION CAN RESULT IN AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. A FUSIBLE LINK DESIGNED TO STOP THE FLOW OF CURRENT IN THIS SITUATION WILL BE BYPASSED BY A WIRE IN THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. AS A RESULT CURRENT WILL CONTINUE TO BE DRAWN FROM THE BATTERY THROUGH THE IGNITION CIRCUIT POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE FIRE.
