Reported risk: Certain Volvo 262, 264 and 265 may have a defective fuel tank pressure control valve that could allow excess pressure to build up in the fule tank possibly causing hairline cracks in the tank and/or fuel to surge out of the tank filler neck when the filler cap is removed. Some fule tanks may also have improper soldering in the drain plug aread that could allow fuel to seep from the tank. Also, some vehicles may not be equipped with a fuel tank feed pump. This condition may result in vapour lock causing the vehicle to stall.
