Reported risk: The white, blue, red and black paintings have an excessive concentration of methylisothiazolinone (MI)(measured values: up to 2.8 mg/kg). MI causes severe skin burns and eye damage (if in contact with the eyes), and may cause an allergic skin reaction. In addition, the green painting has an excessive concentration of formaldehyde (measured value: 0.25 mg/kg). Formaldehyde is a skin sensitiser and can trigger allergic reactions and may cause cancer. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standards EN 71-3 and EN 71-7.
