Reported risk: This recall is for aftermarket extended thread lug nuts produced and sold by Transamerican Auto Parts. Some lug nuts were made with an incorrect thread. As a result, the nuts cannot be properly tightened. This could cause the nuts to loosen and potentially cause the lug studs to fail. If this happens, a wheel could come loose and cause a sudden change in vehicle handling. The wheel could also separate from the vehicle. Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
