Reported risk: The subject products contain a cap that may lose its retention over time and/or under certain operating conditions and can separate from the pin. The hitch may separate if the hitch lock backs out of the hole alignment between the hitch and the drawbar/ball mount. If the trailer is not using safety chains, the trailer could separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. As of February 4, 2025, the company has received one report of minor vehicle damage in Canada, and no reports of injuries.
