Reported risk: Certain garbage trucks may not have a cross member or reinforcement gussets within 30 inches of the end of the chassis. This could cause excessive chassis flex, which may fatigue the body hinge weldment to the point of cracking. Should the body become unstable when raised during dumping operations, it could cause the truck to roll over on its side, increasing the risk of property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install reinforcement gussets.
