Reported risk: On certain propane-powered school buses, fittings used on various propane lines could fail. Should this occur, pressure inside the propane lines would cause the hoses to completely separate from the fittings. In the event of propane line failure, the fuel system is designed to prevent propane leakage using various safety mechanisms to cut off fuel supply to the engine, thereby minimizing the amount of fuel release, as well as the risk of a fire or an explosion.
