Reported risk: On certain HD vehicles equipped with a diesel engine and dual fuel tanks, the fuel pipe tube nuts on each side of the diesel fuel transfer pump may not have been properly torqued. As a result, diesel fuel may leak at the fuel transfer pump if there is fuel in the rear tank and the transfer pump activates to transfer fuel to the forward fuel tank. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or injury. Correction: Dealers will tighten the tube nuts to the proper torque.
