Reported risk: Health Canada has determined that the recalled blinds do not meet the Corded Window Coverings Regulations and pose a strangulation hazard. The design of the product does not properly address the hazards of exposed operating cords, which can create loops. Young children may pull looped cords around their neck, or become entangled in the cords, causing a strangulation hazard. Children can become entangled in blind cords, which can quickly lead to strangulation and even death. Health Canada recommends cordless window coverings. For more information on the hazard, see Blind Cord Safety. As of July 29, 2022, the company has received no reports of incidents, and no reports of injuries in Canada.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Safdie & Co. for a repair kit or refund. For more information, consumers can contact Safdie & Co. by telephone at (514) 344-5579 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PST, Monday through Friday or by email at [email protected] note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.This recall is also posted on the OECD Global Portal on Product Recalls website.
