Reported risk: The company has determined through internal testing a manufacturing defect occurred during production of the shovels. The spring-controlled lock button on the lower shaft has the potential to stay recessed inside the shaft, making it so that the shovel blade cannot be secured to the shaft. The spring was not made to specifications. Because of this, it can interfere with the upper shaft and move out of alignment. Neither Health Canada nor Cascade Designs, Inc. has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these snow shovels in Canada. Cascade Designs, Inc. has received 4 reports of consumer incidents in the United States. No injuries were reported.
