Reported risk: Drummond manufactures two products under the name of pre-cal. They are similar in appearance but have different OD's and ID's. In this instance the machine operator misread the specification and used the larger ID glass. Both of these tubes will deliver the same results when performing a hematocrit test. The pre-calibrated tube is used to determine a more consistent column height of blood at 60mm.
