Reported risk: It has been discovered that some units of the Classic fan heater may have sustained some damage where the bracket holding the fan motor assembly was dislodged or broken. There may not be any visible damage, but if the fan motor assembly is not being held by the bracket, the rotation of the fan blade could be impeded causing the motor to overheat and smoke, posing a potential fire hazard. Home Hardware has received seven reports of the Classic fan heater overheating. No injuries have been reported. Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or complaints related to the use of these heaters.
