Reported risk: The dehumidifiers can overheat, smoke or catch fire, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Gree Electric Appliances is aware of 446 incidents of dehumidifiers overheating, smoking, or catching fire in the United States. Of those incidents, 101 involved reported fires. There have been three Canadian reports of overheating and no Canadian reports of injuries related to the use of these dehumidifiers. Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these dehumidifiers.
