Reported risk: Ottawa, March 8, 2012 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Whole Foods Market Inc. are warning people with allergies to pine nuts not to consume the Spinach Mushroom Quiche described below. The affected product contains pine nuts which are not declared on the label. The affected product, improperly labelled as Spinach Mushroom Quiche, was sold in a package of approximately 280 g , bearing UPC 0275184 316999. The package actually contains Spinach Pine Nut Quiche. This product was sold from March 1 to 5, 2012 inclusive, from Whole Foods Market, Cambie Store, 510 West 8 th Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia. There have been no reported allergic reactions associated with the consumption of this product. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to pine nuts. The manufacturer, Whole Foods Market Inc. , Vancouver, BC is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
