Reported risk: Ottawa, October 11, 2012 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Starbucks Coffee Canada Inc. are warning the public not to consume the peanut butter product described below because it may be contaminated with Salmonella . This peanut butter pouch was incorporated in Starbucks brand Protein Bistro Box kits, 192 g packages bearing UPC 7 62111 88794 8 and a Best Before date from 12 SE 29 to 12 OC 07, inclusively. The Starbucks Protein Bistro Boxes containing the affected peanut butter pouches were distributed nationally. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products. The retailer, Starbucks Coffee Canada Inc. , Toronto, Ontario, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
