Reported risk: A child or adult's finger can become caught in the opening that is formed when locking and unlocking the hinge mechanism which is used to adjust the handlebars on the strollers. This poses a potential amputation and laceration hazard to the child or adult. Kolcraft has received five reports in the United States of injuries involving the hinge mechanism, including three reports of children whose fingertips were amputated and two adults whose fingers were either smashed or lacerated. Neither Health Canada nor Kolcraft has received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. For more safety tips, visit Health Canada's publication on Strollers and Carriages .
