Reported risk: Strangulation can occur when a child places their neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric of the blind, or when a child pulls the cord out and wraps it around their neck. Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products. In the United States, there have been two incidents in which the same 2-year-old girl became entangled in the cord on the back of one of the recalled roman shades.
